You can use our Adapter # e58YR to carry your Thule T2 917 bike rack in your 2" receiver. Thule does not have a specific adapter as they have the 917 Backbone # 753370902 for a 1-1/4" receiver or the 916 Backbone # 753-3581 you can change to if you only have a need for a 2" receiver.

Since the Thule T2 XTR uses a hitch pin that has an autoattach there isn't a 2 inch hitch adapter like what you mentioned that would work. Best option would be to use a hitch reducer like the part #e58YR.

Yes, if you remove the shank of your T2 917XTR and install the part #753-3581 in place of it you'll have converted your bike rack to a 2 inch hitch bike rack and it will be much more stable than it was before.
