Question:
I saw an article, its titled avaialblilty of a floor escape hatch for enclosed cargo trailer. I see the hinge, the handle and the suggested lock... But what is the copper looking stuff bordering the hatch door and the opening. What is it for? I assume to ensure a tight fit and no warping?

Expert Reply:
The trim used is a simple angle trim like the # 36289-955. This trim is used to help protect both the hatch and opening from damage as the exposed wood flooring edges are the most likely part to become damaged. Then you will be able to use the Hinge # H418-204U, Handle # RR02 and Latch # 37220645 that you saw.
