What Is The Advantage Of The B&W Companion Hitch Versus The Patriot

Question:
What is the advantage of the companion hitch over the patriot?

Expert Reply:
The main advantage of the Companion hitch over the patriot is versatility. The companion hitch requires either an OEM puck system, or the installation of a B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck hitch. With the companion/turnoverball setup, you are giving yourself the ability to tow both gooseneck and fifth wheel trailers.
Also, the companion hitch will give you a clear bed when the hitch is not installed. With the Patriot hitch you will have rails installed permanently in the bed which can get in the way when loading certain items. Or if you use your truck to haul gravel or mulch it can do a number on the in-bed rails.
Functionality wise, the hitches will preform similarly. Personally I would go with the Companion hitch, so that I could still have full bed access when not using the hitch. I am glad to recommend parts for you if you are interested. Feel free to send me the year, make, model and bed length of your vehicle. I would also need to know if you have the OEM puck system of not.
