Parts Needed to Add 7-Way & Brake Controller on 2023 Kia Sportage

Question:

I have a 2023 Kia Sportage SX 2.5L standard gas engine. I am looking to add a 7 pin trailer connection with 12V power to pull a small tear camper with trailer brakes. I found the correct Curt Hitch I need to install now I just need to know what all I will need to purchase to add the correct wiring harness with a 7 pin connector and added trailer brake controller.

Sure thing, I will go ahead and list out what you need for your 2023 Kia Sportage to add a 7-way for a brake controller so you can tow with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C94WR:

- T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # C99DR

- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7

You will first install the 4-flat, which will activate your trailer's lighting functions, and you'll then plug that into the 7-way that comes with the # ETBC7, which also gives you the wiring, circuit breakers, and rest of the hardware needed for installation. This will allow you to use a brake controller, and for an easy to use, reliable option I recommend going with the Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195.
