The mounting base for the Soft Touch Assist Handle # AH-150 measures 2" x 2-1/2" both for the top and the bottom base sections.

The distance between the rv wall and where you grab the hand grip of the Soft Touch Assist Handle - Black with Black Grip, part #AH-150, is an 1-1/4". I have included a video review and a diagram below.

Hey Marvin, We offer two 18" long grab handles; Black with Black Grip #AH-150 and White with Black Grip #AH-100. I recommend putting some butyl tape #AL28FJ on the back of the handle to prevent water from leaking in through the screws.
