Question:
I have a 2024 Kia Telluride Prestige SX Pro with a 5,500 lb towing capacity. Looking at your CURT hitch, the highest towable weight is 5,000 lb. Is this correct? If so, is there another hitch you can recommend which meets the 5,500 lb towing capacity? Thank You!

The Curt Hitch # C13420 can actually handle 5,500 lbs as long as you use a weight distribution hitch. However, the rating of 5,000 lbs without one is the best you will find. With a WDH installed the capacity gets bumped up to 6,000 lbs so you would be able to utilize the full towing capacity of your 2024 Kia Telluride SX Prestige X-Pro.
I'm not sure if you're planning on towing the maximum amount, or if you just want a hitch that matches, but if you're towing that much with your Telluride you will want to use a weight distribution hitch regardless of the hitch requirements. In general, you want to use weight distribution if your trailer weight is more than 50% of your gross vehicle weight and at 5,500 lbs it is closer to 100%.
In addition to the hitch you will also need wiring. The Curt Powered Tail Light Converter # C59236 will allow you to add a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights. I also checked the manual for your Telluride and found that the maximum trailer weight is 1,650 lbs without trailer brakes, and with trailer brakes you get the 5,500 lb capacity. This means you will also need to install the # ETBC7 for a 7-way.
The other thing you need to use trailer brakes is a brake controller. For that I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR. The main unit mounts behind the dash so only the control knob is visible in the cab of your vehicle. This gives it a nice sleek look that won't take up any additional space. The knob controls the braking power and also acts as the manual override.
For a ball mount, check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
I have attached some installation videos below for your reference.
