We have actually had this come up before with the RF controller for the Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System # BLU37TR. We contacted Blue Ox and they said they've never heard of a gap on that triangle and the only time the controller should be beeping is if there is an error. In which case you would see an error message on the display screen.
The gap could be the graphic starting to fill in the triangle with the braking power indication, but if you're getting a beep then I definitely recommend checking for an error message. The different error codes can be found in the instructions, but if you're still having issues let me know and I can help you troubleshoot further.

In addition, to answer another question on this, There are no error messages that I can see but the controller has flashed red several times. Is there a way to check old messages?

I replaced the 7 pin receptacle on my motorhome and the 7 pin plug on my TOAD before we left for home. On the first day of driving, it seemed to work fine. The second day, I drove for about two hours and then the controller beeped and the top of the triangle disappeared. I tried disconnecting the power to the controller when we stopped for gas. The triangle was restored. Approx. two hours later, a beep and the top of the triangle was gone again. No error messages show even briefly and as far as I can tell, everything works properly. I’m not sure if there are some glitchy controllers out there, but this is definitely a problem. I’ll be contacting my dealer to see if they can get resolution for this issue but would appreciate if Blue Ox heard from someone at eTrailer that the first complaint that was originally inquired about was not a one-off

Hi We just got back from a long trip and we were going over a very bumpy road when I suddenly heard a beep but didn’t see red or yellow on remote, pulled off and everything appeared to be fine then about an hour later when we turned onto our dirt road (again bumpy road) the brakes on car locked up with a red error “adjust brake pedal” . We turned on and off again and it pushed brake all the way down and flashed red Could this had been because the seat moved due to bumpy road and possibly not locked into place?? Thanks

Hi Scott Same issue with the beeping and the triangle missing the top, no messages and only noticed once that screen flashed red for a split second. It was mentioned to reset the rf controller. Any idea on how to do this? Could this be a temporary loss of RF signal? I notice it normally happens when a vehicle is passing. Next time the triangle top disappears I'm going to unplug the RF controller for 30 seconds to see if that might correct it. Thks for helping with this matter.

I am having this same issue. It tends to happen after I have been towing for several hours. I thought it might be a connection problem but cable tying the 7 pin connector has no impact and removing the connector and reinserting it has no effect. I’m going to check the 7 pin connectors to see if there is a connectivity issue but the fact that it works fine every morning when I start out for several hours and then beeps with the top of the triangle missing indicates a different issue. I’m not towing for a month, but if it happens again, I’ll also try resetting the brake unit and possibly the dash unit to see if I can narrow down what is causing the problem
