Is The Yakima RidgeBack Compatible With A Class I Hitch On A 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon

Question:
Hi, I have a 2018 Subaru Outback with a factory installed 1.25 inch Class I hitch. Ive read that some hit h mount racks will not work with this type of hitch, can you tell me if this model by Yakima will definitely fit and be safe/secure?

Some bike racks will only fit certain size receiver tube openings on the hitch so you can run into compatibility issues with the size of the bike rack's shank. Some racks will also add on weight restrictions if you switch down to a 1-1/4" reciever tube opening. The Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # Y02457 fits both 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches and has no weight capacity restrictions when in a 1-1/4" hitch so you shouldn't have any issues. This rack also includes a speed-knob that will tighten up against the inside of the receiver tube to help prevent any rattling and keep it nice and secure inside the hitch.
I've played around with 4-bike version of this rack and it's honestly super easy to use and quick to install or remove when you're ready to store it. I have a platform rack but this rack would be in my top choices if I ever switched to a hanging rack. I recommend picking up some Velcro strips to secure the front wheel of your bikes to the frame so they don't wag back and forth while you're driving around.
