Hello, I have a 2021 Subaru Forester Sport that I would like a 2inch hitch recommendation. I would like to use it with a Thule T2 Pro XTR and just wanted to make sure I get the correct clearances before ordering from you. Thanks very much!

To use a Thule T2 Pro item # TH83JV on a 2021 Subaru Forester, I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e83ZR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Forester with included hardware. It is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver and it has a 525 lbs tongue weight.

The hitch pin hole sits right at 4" inside of your rear bumper. This will give you plenty of clearance because the closest part of the Thule T2 Pro item # TH83JV when folded down is 7" and the closest part of the bike rack when folded up is 5". A 2" hitch typically has the hitch pin hole 2-1/2" back from the edge of the end of the receiver so you won't have any depth issues either.

If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56040 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
