Is the answer here also valid for a 2024 Subaru Outback Onyx XT with an OEM hitch installed?

Yes, the steps Jon listed in the answer page you referenced would still be applicable to your 2024 Subaru Outback Onyx XT. You'll first need to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56040 to get your light functions and can then install the # ETBC7L to get a 7-way connection point. I've attached a couple of Ryan's videos below to help walk you through the installation process for both of these.

Once installed you could then use the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller - 7-Way Plug Mount w/ Bluetooth App # C51180 to activate the brakes on any trailers you're hauling.
