Review of Curt Accessories and Parts C60607

Today, we're going to take a look at the Curt double lock flip and store gooseneck hitch, has a 30,000 pound weight capacity. This is a heavy duty hitch, which is very dependable and easy to use. It does use a double lock system to provide added security with 2 pins instead of 1. Basically, in most goosenecks, there's just 1 pin that slides across and holds it in place. This one actually has a dual pin setup. Also, on the locking mechanism, it has a zinc plating to provide superior corrosion resistance.

If you notice, it has a chrome plated hitch ball right here, and this will easily remove when you're not towing to give you complete access to your truck bed. The way you would do that, right now, we have it locked in with the dual pins, just pull on this handle. When you pull it out far enough, you can just twist it, and it'll hold it in the open position. Then you'll be able to pull the ball right out. I'll turn it. You can see there's the dual pins where the 2 pins go through to hold it in place.

Basically, just flip the ball over. There's a little handle right there on the top you can hold onto, drop it back into the hole, and it'll store upside down in the hitch for easy access. All you have to do then is release the handle, the 2 pins slide across, and lock it into the stow position. The nice thing is they give you this nice rubber cover, and you just put that on over it. What that allows it doesn't allow any dirt or grime from falling down in that hole when the ball's being stowed. You also notice right around here they have a nice chrome ring that surrounds the hitch ball hole.

This is to provide a nice, tight low profile look. Also, if you notice, it comes with these spring loaded safety chain hookups right here, so you just hook your safety chains there. It'll hold them right into place. Now, to install this, it does require a Curt 600 series installation kit. We do sell those separately. They are fit for each particular vehicle, so we do recommend to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you which installation kit is needed to install this on your vehicle.

To install it, there's no welding required. The truck bed does not need to be removed for installation. Now, Curt also offers 2 accessories for this, which are pretty unique. They offer a fifth wheel adapter plate. It's part number C16210. We sell that separately on our website. Basically, it's a fifth wheel that's on a mounting plate, and that plate is able to slide right in there and lock it into position. You can actually use a fifth wheel with this gooseneck hitch. Pretty nice feature. The other thing they offer is an offset hitch ball. Instead of the hitch ball being up and down, it's offset some. They do that to create additional space between the cab and the trailer, so you can just drop that ball, and it'll be offset some towards the rear. That's part number C60602. Again, we sell it separately on our website. These parts are all made in the USA. What I'm going to do is go ahead and flip the ball back over. We'll unlock it by pulling the handle, and then just twisting it. It holds it open. Pull the ball back out, flip it over, drop it into position, release it, and, again, it's locked into place. The ball size is your standard 2 and 5/16 diameter gooseneck ball size. Gross towing weight capacity on this is 30,000 pounds. Tongue weight capacity is 7,500 pounds. A couple tips when you do install it, it will require a 4 inch hole to be drilled into your bed to access this hole and 4 half inch holes for the safety chain U-bolts to come through. Again, it does require the Curt 600 series installation kit, which we do sell separately. That should do it for the review on the Curt double lock flip and store gooseneck hitch with the 30,000 pound weight capacity.
