Only Some LEDs Illuminate on LED-Type Trailer Lights on Boat Trailer

Question:

I put a new wire harness on my trailer. I have good ground on both light and tongue. My right turn signal and brake lights work and for a brief time I had full light on my left.The left still works for both turn and brake however I only have 7/10 leds lighting up. Again they lit up all for a brief point and now only 7 are working, Why?

It sounds as though there is an issue within the one left-side LED light assembly itself. Since LEDs draw so little power it is unlikely that there is an issue with overloading the trailer wiring. If only 7 of the 10 LED elements are now working it is most likely that the problem is in the light fixture itself. LED-type lights do not have user-replaceable elements so it will probably be necessary to replace the entire fixture.

Not all LED trailer lights are fully submersible. You definitely want to use fully submersible LED lights on your boat trailer.
