Can You Run Power Wire for Curt Harness on 2018 Toyota Sienna to Rear of Vehicle

Question:

Could I take current from the lighter and not use the black cable to the battery? I understand that it is easier and shorter using the fuse holder in this area? Thank you!

It's required to route the power wire for the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C56261 directly to the battery. It cannot be run to any other circuit on the vehicle. The fuse for the power must be within a certain distance from the battery and the circuit must be rated appropriately. That said, you can install the harness any way you like but you're only covered under warranty if installed per the instructions.
