Recommended Tongue Jack for 12K Sea Ray Sundancer

Question:

I have a sea ray 289 Sundance dry weight about 12k. I need replace tongue jack do you have a jack to handle that compacity. Square tube side mount

I do have some great jack options for you and your boat but the jack does not need to be rated for the entire weight of the boat, at least directly. For example, a trailer jack rated at 2,500 lbs is more than enough for a 12,000 lb boat. The reason for this is that the jack only need to be rated for the tongue weight, which is usually about 10-15% of the loaded boat+ trailer weight. Therefore, if you had a 13,000 lb loaded boat and trailer then all you would need the jack to be rated for is 10-15% of this so between 1,300 lbs and 1,950 lbs. The Square Jack w/ Footplate part # MJSQ-2500B is a great option that would cover you well.
