Your 2012 Mini Cooper S hardtop will require the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH47FR. This is currently our only aftermarket receiver custom fit for your specific Mini with the center mounted dual exhaust.
I recommend installing the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter # C59236 when you install the receiver. This will give you a 4-way flat connector which is needed to connect to most small trailers you may tow. It can also be used with hitch mounted accessories which require Auxiliary Lights # C53201.
