Where to Mount Tandem Axle Hangers For a 26 Inch Leaf Spring to have 35 Inch Axle Separation?

Published 04/27/2023

Question:

Im setting up all new suspension on a car hauler and would like to use these to achieve a 35inch axle spacing so I can run 235 85 16 tires. I have tandem dexter 6k axles and was planning on using: E94SR 26inch Springs MR27ZR Equalizers MR46ZR Bolt/Bushing/Shackles Just want to make sure all of these would be compatible and allow for the 35 axle spacing. Can you also provide a diagram of what I will need to set for my hanger spacing? Thank you

The MORryde Shock Absorbing Suspension Equalizers # MR27ZR are going to be compatible with the 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e94SR. They will connect with the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR46ZR and a Hanger Kit # H248. With the springs being 26" long and an 8" equalizer you will want to spread the hangers 30-1/2" from center to have a 35" axle spacing with no weight on the trailer. This measurement is the separation for the mounting bolt centers of the hangers. If the springs did fully compress it would still give you 33" axle separation which is enough for your Kenda Karrier ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire with 16" Black Mod Wheel # AM32743B being 31-5/8" tall.
