Updated 03/20/2023 | Published 03/19/2023

Question:

I have a Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4 inch hitch installed on my 2020 Toyota Camry and I have a Thule bike rack Dbltrack Platform-style 2 Bike Rack For 1-1/4 and 2 attached to the hitch. My bike weight under 35#s. The bike rack drags on the road when I go over a larger bumps or a graded driveway so I would like to raise up the rack 4-6inch but not sure of the best product to do this. My purchase from etrailer - August 2020 - Order 109760261 . 1 [smu] Dbltrack Platform-style 2 Bike Rack For 1-1/4 and 2 1 0 1 Etrailer Rubber Hitch Cover For 1-1/4 Hitches 1 0 1 Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4 1 0

The best option we have for you to help with raising the rack would be with the Trailer Hitch Adapter part # e93YR. In order to use this you'd need to use the included adapter sleeve with your bike rack to fit the 2" hitch size. There isn't an adapter like this with both 1-1/4" inlet and outlet. Please note, this adapter will reduce your capacity although your current setup would still fall inline with this. The adapter is also going to add some more movement into the rack. That said, it's the only way to reduce the scraping.
