Question:
Whats the difference between the maxcoat and stainless? Do you think its worth the extra cost?

Expert Reply:
The DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE82FR with the Maxx coating has a salt spray rating of over 1,000 hours while the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE54VR with the Stainless construction isn't rated for salt spray, but when I spoke with the owner he said the Coast Guard has used them for 13 years and never has had an issue with rust, so it definitely sounds like it's worth it.
If you want the best of both worlds then check out the Disc Brake Kit # DE22FR. This comes with stainless calipers and then the Maxx coating on the rotors and brackets. The calipers will last for a very long time and then you can count on that Maxx salt spray rating all without footing the bill for the higher cost of all stainless.
