7-Way & 4-Way For 2020 Ford F-250 That Can be Used at Same Time

Question:
My 2020 Ford F250 has the original trailer wiring sockets of a round 7 pin OR a flat 4 pin. The covers are hinged so you can not use both at the same time. Why do they make the covers that way? What is the easiest way to use both at the same time?

I can't speak to why manufacturers make the covers that way, and as you said the covers are hinged so you cannot use both at the same time, so there isn't an easiest way to use both at the same time. If you need both at the same time on your 2020 Ford F-250, there is truly no option other than replacing the connector with a new one, the Reese Multi-Plug Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connectors # 74682.
