  Hey Shawn, I really like that boat! If you didn't already I recommend actually measuring to make sure a 36" extension is really what you need. At 36" the only thing that can handle that kind of tongue weight is the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1536 which will require the SuperHitch Magnum # TL27CR .   Hello Mark, thanks for reaching out. The only extension that can hold that kind of weight are the Torklift SuperTruss hitch extensions like part # TLE1536. This is rated for up to 1,200 lbs of tongue weight. The only way to use this extension is by replacing your trailer hitch with a Torklift brand Super Hitch. Is your Ram a 1500, 2500 or 3500? • Looking for Hitch Extender that Fits 2.5 inch Hitch Size
  Hey Steve, oddly enough Torklift does not offer a version of their hitch extensions that fit the 2.5 inch hitch size. Instead we have the Curt part # C45048 which can be used at 24 inches or 34 inches. Would that work for you? It has a towing capacity of 6,000 lbs. Torklift primarily makes these hitch extensions for their double hitch setups but only recently started making them for the 3 inch hitch size.

The TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension for 3" Ford Factory Hitch Receivers - 21" Long # TL46CR will be the shortest actual extender for a 3" hitch we currently carry and I'm not sure if there are others on the market.
