Parts Needed to Convert Dexter 8k Trailer Axle to Electric Over Hydraulic Disc

Question:

Hi. I have a new 2022 solitude 5th wheel. It has dexter 7000lb axles and drum brakes. I am seriously pondering on replacing them with 8,000lb dexter axles. I know if I go with drum brakes, that the axle dimensions will have to change to male them fit. But, if I go to disk brakes, the dimensions can stay the same. I see hydrastar makes kits for tandem 7,000 lb axles, and you have them. Do you have tandem kits for 8,000lb dexter axles, and you do, how much is a kit?

We have all of the parts needed to convert an 8k trailer axle to disc brakes but we don't have it as a single part number like we do with some of the other axle capacities. So the best actuator is the Hydrastar as we have found that they are by far the most reliable and quickest reacting. For that you'd want the Hydrastar kit part # HS481-8067 which also comes with the breakaway kit, battery and wiring needed. Then you'll need the brake line kit part # HS496-252.

Then for the actual axle brake components you'd want the Kodiak Kit part # K2HR89DD which is Dacromet coated to prevent corrosion and has the 8 lug bolt pattern you'd need as well. The prices for these parts are available down below.
