Can the # DL10974 winch be rigged with a synthetic polyester or dyneema rope, instead of galvanized metal cable?

Expert Reply:
High strength synthetic ropes like the ones you are describing are not recommended for D-L winches. These ropes are extremely slippery and pose a high risk of severely damaging the winch’s reel and ultimately the winch as a whole. If you want to use the # DL10974 you will need to use a cable like the # DL24104.
