Installed Position of Draw-Tite & Curt 2-Inch Hitches on 2016 Mazda CX-9

Do you know the height and distance from the bumper for the Curt and Drawtite class 3 hitches for the 2016 Mazda CX9? Thanks

We have not yet had a local customer bring in a 2016 Mazda CX-9 for a hitch install but I can give you some help in determining the installed position for a hitch.

I went to our warehouse and measured Draw-Tite hitch # 76020 and Curt hitch # C13284 so you can use those dimensions to give you a close approximation of where the hitch tube will be relative to your bumper and to the ground when installed. Since both install on the bottom surface of the car's frame what I did was measure from the top of the mounting flanges (which will touch the frame) down to the top and bottom of the receiver tubes.

On Draw-Tite 2-inch hitch # 76020 from the mounting flange to the top of the receiver tube is 4-1/2-inches; please refer to the photo. To the bottom of the receiver tube the measure is 7-1/2-inches. On the Curt # C13284 to the top of the tube the distance is 5-inches and to the bottom 8-inches. This means that the ground clearance with the Draw-Tite will be slightly better (by 1/2-inch). It will also sit 1/2-inch closer to your bumper.
