RE: Swagman X Mount Bike Carrier Storage Rack - Wall Mount - 2inch Racks Item # S80940 The mount part that sticks out adds too much length for our garage. I would like to simply hang our rack from the bottom, which all your photos only show a hitch mount and ball hanging. Our rack is Hollywood Sport Rider HR1500 Bike Carrier 58 lbs. Will this storage mount support this configuration? Photo HR1500-A-small is the way I want to mount it on the wall. Photo HR1500-B-small shows closeup of the hanging part.

I do have a possible solution for you as the engineers at Swagman said their X Mount Bike Carrier Storage Rack # S80940 is only capable of supporting a ball mount by the vertical hanger. You would have to position your Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR into the horizontal tube which you already identified would stick out to far.

The Rear Hanger # 721585 would allow you to bolt it to your wall and is going to be more than strong enough to support the weight of your bike rack. This hanger is designed to work on trailer suspensions using 3,500-9,000lb axles. The hanger does have holes already which will allow you to mount it to a stud in your garage. The mounting holes you will be able to hang your bike rack from are only 9/16" in diameter so you can either drill them out to match the 5/8" hitch pin on your bike rack or use a 9/16" bolt to secure it in the hanger since there will not be any stress like when installed on your vehicle.
