Today we're going to review part number, S80940, this is the Swagman X Mount Bike Carrier Storage Rack. Before we can do a review we need to go ahead and put it on the wall. First off you want to find a location on your wall where a stud is. Go ahead and mark it. Then we'll go ahead and drill out a hole, it might be a good idea to use one of the screws that comes with the wall mount to go ahead and get through your dry wall first, and then use a 1/8 th inch drill bit to drill a hole in the stud. With our hole ready, we'll go ahead and take our X Mount and put it up against the wall. Then use the long screw and a washer to help hold it up there. Our kit came with four screws, so we'll go ahead and make sure our X Mount is level on the wall using a small level and then we'll go ahead and drill out the rest of our holes, using the existing holes as a template.
Using the same process as before, we'll go ahead and install the rest of our screws. As you can see the receiver tube can move left or right as needed. Go ahead and put in the position that we need to and then install the pin to hold it in place, this way it won't move to the left or the right. Now we can go ahead and try it out. First we'll go ahead and see out it works with a 2 inch ball mount. We're using a drop ball mount, so the ball mount will actually be away from the wall a little bit. We need to use a pin and clip, and we simply just lay into place going into the slot.
This is a better place to keep it than in the back of your truck when you're not using it. Next we'll go ahead and try a bicycle rack out. This is designed for 2 inch bicycle racks. You can also use 1 inch bike rack with its 2 inch adapter as we're doing here. Once the bike rack's in place, we'll go ahead and install the hardware that it uses to hold it in place on the hitch. Here are things to know, it's constructed from solid steel and has 100 lbs weight capacity. With that, that shows the Swagman X Mount is easy to install and easy to use. That'll finish it for review of part number, S80940 from Swagman.

Product works as designed. Secured to a stud in my garage, it holds my heavy Kuat four bike rack just fine. It's been about one year and no complaints.
Product performs exactly as promised. I have 3 receiver hitch racks, and it was great to get a couple off the floor. Bonus is that one of them is designed in such a way that I can hang a bike on it while stored in this bracket and work on the bike. Took away one star because I would like to have seen larger screws or maybe square bit screws. This came with 4 long skinny phillips head screws that seem to do the job, but require a lot of care to prevent stripping out the heads.

The Swagman X Mount Bike Carrier Storage Rack - Wall Mount rack really freed up floor space in our garage. We purchased two (2) mounts as we have a two bike Swagman rack and a four bike Hollywood rack. We use both bike racks with our RV and tow vehicle when the whole family travels with us.
With the bike racks stored in the upright position on the Swagman storage racks, I can have our second car car in the garage.
We used a 3/4 inch plywood backing for the wall mounts which allowed me to install the wall mounts between two wall studs. The four bake rack is mounted low on the wall and the two bike rack is mount just above it about shoulder height. Both racks are easy to remove and put in place for storage.

Easy to install and does the job perfectly. We have a big heavy bike rack and the Swagman X Mount keeps us from having to store it on the floor. We are very happy with this purchase.

We are still loving the product. It makes getting the bike rack to the car much easier. We have it down to a science.
It was easy to install and exaclty what I was expecting. My bike rack no longer clutters up my garage floor and now has a convenient place to rest.
Great product for the price! Solid construction and installation was a breeze. I deducted 1 star for the mounting hardware. In my opinion, the included screws are too small, so I replaced them with 1/4" x 3" lag screws and washers. With the upgraded lag screws, I'm confident this rig would support the weight of my bikes as well.
I was looking to organize the garage and make better use of my bike rack. The Swagman X Bike Storage Rack allowed me to utilize my bike rack both on the car and in the garage. The quality of the storage rack is excellent and eTrailer's customer service was exceptional. The item shipped on time and I was notified by e-Mail throughout the delivery. One of the best on-line shopping experiences ever.
If you have limited space in your garage or shed then get this. Very solid. Mounted my to a stud and it allowed me to store 2 cargo carriers and couple ballmounts up over the dog house in garage. Taking up 0 space in the garage. Would work great with bike racks also. the slot on bottom is so you can hang a ball mount from it.
Great product. 2nd time purchasing. Used for bike racks and Hitch Haul carriers to get them off the floor and near the ceiling when not in use. Will be installing the new one shortly.
Great rack wall mount. I would recommend putting soap on the screws for easier screwing. Further a long 1/8” drill bit works great for the pilot wholes. Once installed it was easy to place the rack on the wall mount.
Good product but weird that it had to be disassembled (quick except for minimum clearance to reinstall hinge bolt) to completely mount.
Installed just as the videos showed on my 2019 Kia Sportage. I did not need to take off forward muffler hanger on my 2019 Kia Sportage... just the rear two.

My wife and I got new bikes along with a new carrier that connects to our trailer hitch. I was wondering how I was going to store both the bikes and trailer this winter. I envisioned a product that I could connect the carrier to that would look like my trailer hitch. Well as they say great minds think alike. I googled the concept and came across etrailer. Mounting this to a single stud will not work, a load of 2 or more bicycles will cause the stud to move or split. I mounted mine to a 2x10 nailed to two studs, and then needed to reinforce that with more screws. After mounting carrier and adding three bikes, the unit felt like it might still cause that support to fail. So I supported the carrier with a block of wood at the point where it turns vertical, near the bikes.
This unit needs more mounting holes, bigger screws, and it would much better if it were designed to span two studs with an upper and lower bar.

This bike carrier storage rack is designed to only handle an overall total of 100 lbs of weight capacity. Anything over this weight will cause the product to fail. If your three bikes together weigh more than the allotted capacity then it could be causing the stability issues. That would include the weight of the bike carrier itself. For example if your bike carrier weighs 80 lbs, you are only allowed a 20 lb bike on the carrier while being supported by the storage rack.

The mount works great. The bike rack seemed to be a bit wobbly so i have wrapped the top of the rack with a bungee cord to stabilize it against the wall.
What a perfect way to store a bulky and awkward item. This is amazing quality and worth its weight in gold!
Didn't get to mount it yet but all looks good and sturdy. The only reason I wrote this review was how impressed I was with the service from etrailer. Email correspondence was excellent and I was blown away with how quickly the product got to me even with the economy shipping option chosen. Thank you.

I actually purchased the item as a gift for my Dad. I have not heard any complaints, and I have since ordered items from you guys. Your company does things the right way. Dependable all around service and quality products.
I purchased this product to store my Thule hitch bike rack in my garage. It installed easily and works perfectly. It keeps the bike rack off of the floor and free from damage. I highly recommend you get one if you use a hitch bike rack.
Excellent product. I replaced 2 of the 4 included bolts with 1/4 lag bolts that are 3in in length. I didn't replace the other two because they go behind the swivel head.
I bought three of these for:
1. kaut hitch rack
2. original sportworks rack
3. my 90 lb truck winch
I will also put bikes on the racks. Haven't yet.
Great product, solved my problem with storing my bike rack and bikes. Easy to install, sturdy built. It supports my 3 bike carrier and two bicycles with no problems. I mounted the rack on a 2" X 4" stud wall, sheathed in 1/2" plywood, seems sturdy enough. Comes with four 3" philips head screws for mounting.
This is perfect to hold my swagman bike rack

Must have if you need to store any trailer accessory. You can use it to store your bike rack, or a hitch box!
The Swagman X Mount is well built and super easy to install. It keeps my bike rack off the ground and now I have a lot of extra room in my garage. If you're looking to store your trailer mounted rack on the wall, then this is the product for you.
