Mounting Hardware Needed To Install 3,500LB Axle & Double Eye Leaf Springs on a Torsion Axle Trailer

Updated 11/28/2022 | Published 11/27/2022

Question:

Hello, I have a Dexter 84 3500lb 2 3/8 4 drop axle Im going to use under a 6X10 pop up trailer frame. This frame has been already converted into a utility trailer and Im replacing its torsion axle with the Dexter. The leaf springs Im planning on using are 5 leaf double eye leaf springs which I believe have 9 1/16 bolt and greaseable bushing in them. The leaf springs are 1 3/4 wide and I plan on installing air shocks on the trailer as I already have a set from a previous project. Could you send me the links for hanger kits with and without bolts and shackles to fit this 2 3/8 axle. And the hanger kits must fit 1 3/4 wide leaf springs. Could you also send me links for the spring perches that fit a 2 3/8 axle and U-bolts with tie plates. Your website is vast. Thank You

Here is a list of suspension kits we have that contain the hangers, shackle straps and mounting bolts for the leaf springs.

Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit 1-1/2" Front, 1-1/4" Rear # APS2
Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit 3-1/4" Front, 7/8" Rear # APS5
Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit 1-1/2" Front, 7/8" Rear # APS1

Here are kits for just the spring hangers.

Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit 1-1/2" Front, 1-1/4" Rear # APS3
Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit 3-1/4" Front, 1-1/4" Rear # APS4

We have a basic set of Shackles and Mounting Hardware # K71-403-00 as well as a Wet Bolt Set # K71-358-00.

Your 3,500lb axle will need a pair of the Spring Seats # TRSS238 along with either the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit # CE23002 or U-Bolt Kit # APUBR-1. The CE Smith kit is zinc coated with galvanized plates for corrosion resistance. This is best if you live near salt water or will be using the trailer in areas where they use road salts.
