Recommended Brake Controller and Wiring for 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

Question:

Hi. What brake Controller do I need for my 2023 Grand Cherokee L , Overland, to tow a trailer and do I need a wiring harness? Thank you

If your 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L does not have wiring you will need to add it to use a brake controller. The first thing you need is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK39VR for a 4-way. From there, you need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This kit comes with the adapter, wiring, and everything else required to upgrade the connector to a 7-way.

Once your 7-way is installed you can add a brake controller. I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR. The main unit of this brake controller installs behind the dash with only the control knob visible in the cab of the vehicle. This gives it a nice clean factory look, while taking up minimal space. The knob controls the braking power and also acts as the manual override.
