Recommended Adapter for Powering Trailer Cameras w/ a 2022 Chevy Silverado

Updated 11/12/2022 | Published 11/11/2022

Question:

My New 2022 Silverado LTZ 2500 has a buttload of cameras integrated in the infotainment display. I bought a bumper pull 2022 Jayco White Hawk RV and had a 3 camera Furion install done at dealership. It came with a 7 inch display for the side and rear cameras that were installed. I had dealer to pair the cameras and all worked well until the display was plugged into the 12 volt inside the truck. Then no cameras would work. But they would work if the Furion display was connected to a portable power source the technician used when getting around pairing cameras. Does the suggested work around apply to me? 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter for Furrion RV Observation Camera item # FR87PR

Congrats on the new truck! If the dealership was able to pair the Furrion wireless cameras to your GM Transparent Trailer View1 system and power it off of external power then yes the 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter for Furrion RV Observation Camera item # FR87PR will work. This adapter just provides a constant source of power from your truck to the camera's. The difficulty has been pairing the camera's to the OEM monitors.

The newer GM trucks do not provide enough power through the running lights circuit on the 7-way connector to power the cameras. The Furrion adapter fixes this problem.

I have linked an installation and review video below to show you the functions of this adapter and how to set it up.
