I believe you will need the Replacement Lippert Power Gear Manual Leveling Control Kit # LC359259 for your 1996 Fleetwood Discovery. You will need to remove the control panel to determine if you have the old style wiring connection or the new style which connects to the Replacement Key Pad # LC82FR you found.

Sounds like the control panel was fried when the dealer messed up the wiring. Only solution will be an all new control panel with the part #LC359259 which we have confirmed fits the now discontinued Power Gear 500210 leveling system.
