1995 Coleman Utah Replacement Leaf Springs Needed

Published 10/17/2022

Question:

Hi, I am hoping you can help. We have a new to us 1995 Coleman Fleetwood Utah pop-up camper. We cannot get the wheel off to replace the brakes which we will be purchasing from etrailer if we can ever get the tire off. It has been suggested that the issue is flattened leaf springs. So that begs the question of a replacement part for Coleman part 4735CC201. Do you have anything that matches that part? Attaching page from the manual. Thanks in advance.

The most I was able to find about the Coleman 4735CC201 leaf spring is that it's rated for 1,000 lbs which means it goes to a 2,000 lb axle. For that application we have the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End # e69SR which measures 25-4/8" long from the center of the eye to the end of the spring itself. If you use a jack to raise your trailer by the frame you will be able to get under the trailer to measure the leaf spring without it being compressed and compare that to our length.

Something else you might consider is replacing your entire axle system with the Timbren Axle-Less Kit # ASR2000S02 so that you can ditch your old equipment and not have to worry about getting exact replacements. This will make it easier than finding parts for an (almost) 30 year old trailer plus the individual rubber springs give the trailer better ride control.

If you do choose to go this route then you can use the self-adjust brakes # AKEBRK-35-SA and replacement hub # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K for a totally renovated suspension system.

Attached are some review videos for you to check out.
