Yes, the Lock N Roll Articulating Trailer Hitch # 336VS501 will allow you to backup your trailer just like a traditional ball hitch. Since the hitch and Coupler # 336TS528 lock onto one another there is much less noise than you will get with a traditional ball coupler.
