Question:
I have 7K tandem axles on a GD Momentum 21G. Which is proper SS and do I need to install a new contact plate? Does trailer need tires and weight lifted off ground or can I use my tongue jack and other support jacks to get under and instal assuming I have working space?

You will need 2 sets of the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # SS26MV on your Grand Design Momentum 21G. These will fit your overslung axles and are rated to work on axles with a capacity of 5,000-8,000lbs. The information I could find says your camper came with 5,200lb axles but will still work if you have upgraded 7,000lb axles. I couldn't find exact information on the spring plates on your Momentum but as long as they are not more than 5-1/2" wide or 3/4" thick you will not need a new U-Bolt Plate # CE20003G.
Depending on your working area will really determine the best way for you to install these. I do recommend having a jack and stands to lift the weight off of the suspension making installation of the springs easier. You may also need to relocate any gas lines that run down the frame rail so this may require more of a working area to be able to access everything for the installation.
