For an old Ventline RV roof vent I recommend replacing the lid with the MaxxAir UniMaxx Universal Replacement Lid for RV and Trailer Roof Vent - Translucent White # MA00-335001 or # MA00-335002 for black.
These covers come with a bolt on hinge so there's no guess work whether it will work or not. Simply bolt the brackets to the side of your vent and attach the lift mechanism to the center of the lid and you're good to go.
