What Drill Bit Should I Use To Drill Into My Jack Stands
Updated 08/10/2022 | Published 08/08/2022 >
Question:
I bought a set of extensions for my jack stands, my jack stands only has one pre drilled hole in the center back, and the extensions has three, one small hole in the back center, that will line up with the extensions and no holes on the side that are used to bolt the jack stands to the extensions. I have tried several different types of drill bits but nothing will go through the jack stands. Does anyone have any advice on the type of drill bit I should use?

Expert Reply:
When drilling into your jack stands I would recommend using a 135 degree drill bit like The 5/8 inch Drill Bit # 7164.
This drill bit has 135 degree split points which will give you an easier start on flat surfaces. It is made of high carbon, M-2 steel for maximum durability and minimum brittleness.
