When heavy trailers or bed loads start to drag your rear end down, these Hellwig Pro Series Helper Springs pick up the slack. With a 2,500-lb load leveling capacity, they mount between your factory leaf springs and bump stops to reduce sag and keep your ride height steady. That means your truck stays level for better steering, braking, and headlight aim even when you’re hauling or towing.
Heavy loads can make the back of your truck sway or roll through turns. These custom helper springs flex with your leaf springs to keep things stable while limiting bounce. You can fine-tune the U-bolts for different loads, and even set each side independently if your gear isn’t evenly distributed. The result is steadier handling on highways, curves, and uneven ground.
Instead of overworking your stock suspension, these bolt-on helper springs share the load so your leaf springs, tires, and brakes don’t take all the stress. They install between the leaf pack and bump stop using included mounting hardware—no complicated setup required. Once in place, they work alongside your existing suspension to prevent bottoming out and keep things running smoothly.
Hauling gear day after day demands tough components, and these helper springs are built from durable steel for reliable performance. The silver vein hammer tone powder coat finish resists corrosion so they stay looking sharp and performing strong over time. It’s a straightforward way to add long-term strength and stability to any heavy-duty setup.
If your vehicle is equipped with lift blocks, make sure there is at least 3/4" of extra threads below the nuts on the axle U-bolts. If there is not, you will need to purchase longer U-bolts. Do not install on vehicles with composite (plastic) leaf springs.

Hi everyone. Aiden here at Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the line of Hellwig Pro Series Helper Springs. This is gonna be a great solution to help enhance your suspension and help protect the factory suspension on your truck. Let's check it out. Now, the first thing to know is that these come in a variety of different shapes and sizes.
The ones in my hand are not the exact same as the ones installed on the truck behind me. So what you wanna do is take your vehicle information and plug it into our fit guide. Your year, make, model, will have a set of these that work for it, and that's the one you wanna pick up. So you can find the right one for you and your truck and they all install about the same way. I mean, it's the same idea where you've got U-bolts attaching this to your leaf springs, and for the most part, they will function the exact same way too.
So the idea behind these springs is that they become a maintenance free enhancement for your suspension, allowing you to get more support on maybe some bumpier, heavier loads and still let your truck ride at a normal ride height and bring it back to that factory ride height quicker. Rather than maybe hitting a big bump with a heavy trailer and your truck and trailer taking a long time to correct before again, you've just hit another bump. So it's gonna smooth out the ride quality, hopefully bring you out a little bit more level and do things like align your headlights and improve the contact that your front tires are making on the ground because we're sagging less. Now because these work in tandem with your factory leaf springs, it's also going to help reduce the stress on those, helping your factory suspension components last a little bit longer and not having them flex near as much because they have those helper springs, helping them out and reducing the amount that they have to work. And they are somewhat adjustable.
And what I mean by that is during the initial install process, there's gonna be some outer U-bolts that you tighten down a certain amount, tighten them down more, and you're gonna apply more preload, essentially causing these to engage a bit quicker and helping out with those heavier loads a bit quicker. Don't thread them in as much and you're not gonna feel it as much. It's gonna be more true to factory ride quality and better for the lighter loads. We've got ours set right in the middle right now, so after continued use we can re-evaluate and see what we need to do, but chances are you're gonna set it and maybe change it once to fit your needs a bit better after towing with it for a little bit and probably just leave it there. This isn't like an airbag where you've got that on demand filling or letting out air pressure to accommodate for a wide range of different trailers.
This is for your one trailer and truck combination that you can set and really dial it in because with an option like a sumo spring or a timber in, you're stuck with just that one setting. And if it doesn't quite work for your truck and trailer combination, you're gonna find yourself in a pinch where it just doesn't work super well. Whereas with this, if it doesn't work out of the gate as we want it, we can adjust it a bit and fine tune it from there. Easy install on 2015 NV2500. No noticeable difference in unloaded ride quality. Van is level for towing my RV.

Directions not the best got very confused putting it on watched a lot of you tube videos they were not that good either. I did have problems with my nuts stripping on the foward u-bolts on both sides fwd of the axle. I did torque the nuts with a calibrated torque wrench. Not sure if it was caused by me or the poor directions. Reached out to the manufacturer he said never heard of that before and said he would send new hardware. I am out of state in a rv park will see what happens when I reinstall. Oh had to cut it off in a Safeway parking lot on my way to TX

Everything showed up as scheduled and the box was fully intact, all parts were accounted for. Now waiting for a good weather day to install.
Easy enough to install but the kit needs locknuts! Also a better example of how to adjust properly!
The only reason I gave the kit 4 stars is because Im a vistual person, the picture/ instructions for my spring mounting locations and where they acually mount up are different so I felt I was doing something wrong but finally got them mounted. The customer service I give (6) stars because the shipper damaged the box and parts fell out, called customer service had my missing parts in 2 days. 2023 GMC Denali 2500hd couldn't find an install video to use as a reference.
These spring are insufficient for my use. My fifth-wheel RV applies 2918lbs to the bed of my 2024 RAM 3500. Between the factory springs and the HE67QR kit, I'm left with about a 2" drop in bed height. During the day isn't a problem, but makes night towing a little dicey since the headlights are noticeable raised. The rubber insulators have lost a fair amount of resistance because of the squish applied while towing and can require the mounting nuts to be re-tightened after several uses to stop the shackles from rattling. These springs would probably be a better choice for loads at less than two thousand pounds.

What a great product! Unfortunately, even though the helper springs fit beautifully over the factory provided chassis leaf springs, the design of my Leisure Travel van has frame supports that prevent me from utilizing the helper spring set up. The clearances were too tight between the metal framing of my Leisure Travel van to her Mercedes 3500 cutaway chassis. All the other upgrades all went smoothly without any difficulty and the overall ride is so much I previously had. This is my third upgrade/Do it yourself Project from e-trailer and will not be my last, such a great company to work with.
I have now had the hellwig pro helper springs for a year and they are still performing like new. The ride is a little rough when unloaded but when loaded, they work great taking out out all of the sag from the rear leaf springs on my 2013 F150 XLT supercrew 4x4.

The product is very well made and sturdy. The pro series was very easy to install. Overall I think it is going to work as I intended.
Still giving five stars, one thing that could improve are the instructions. Specifically torque specs. The table is helpful, but just spell it out in the instructions.
I have been using these on my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 for a year, I tow a horse trailer once a month on a 200 mile trip over some of the most curvy and mountainous highways of northern California (HWY 299 or HWY 36). These have made a huge difference as I no longer have squat in the rear suspension which improves my handling. I wouldn't recommend these if you were pulling a variety of trailers of different weights. These are great if you have one trailer and you set them to the desired stiffness and leave them. If you had to adjust frequently it would be a hassle. I only pull the one trailer and the weight is always the same so this was a much cheaper option than air bags.
