The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C99FR will fit your 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE. This receiver is rated for up to 500lbs of tongue weight and total trailer weight up to 5,000lbs. Be sure to verify your maximum tow rating for your Highlander in your owners manual and do not exceed the lower for the ratings.
I recommend installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK99FR when you install the receiver. This 4-way connector will connect to most small trailers and will also allow for Auxiliary Lights # C53201 if you are using a hitch mounted accessory that impairs the view of your tail lights. We also have the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter # TK57VR that will give you a 7-way and allow you to install a Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR. The Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter # 331-TPH-017 will allow you to make the wiring connection without cutting off the Tekonsha connector and the Mounting Panel # 331-TPSI-002 will allow you to use one of the empty slots on your dash for a factory look. You will need a Mounting Bracket # PK12711U to attach the 7-way on your Highlander.
