Replacement Leaf Spring Needed for 1999 Coachman Hunter Popup Camper
Updated 07/07/2022 | Published 07/05/2022 >
Question:
My 1999 Coachman Hunter 1060st popup broke its leaf spring. I’m having trouble finding a product that matches the current leaf spring. The spring is double eye, 4 leaf, 1.75” wide, spring height 2.5” installed on trailer, and 21.75” eye to eye installed on camper.. Is there an easier way to find a matching part?

The closest thing we have to what you described you have on your 1999 Coachmen Hunter Popup is the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e84SR. This measures 20-3/8" long center-eye to center-eye, is 1-3/4" wide, uses 3 leaves that are 1/4" thick each, and then the center of the eyes sit above the top of the spring right at 3-3/16".
This doesn't quite match up with your specs but we also take this measurement when there isn't a load on the leaf springs. If your measurements were taken without lifting the frame of your trailer (so the leaf spring isn't supporting anything) then that would explain the different in length and height. It's also worth noting that leaf springs will stretch over time which also would explain why your leaf spring is that much longer.
Please be sure to swap out both leaf springs at the same time on your camper so you get the best ride quality and your suspension setup is safe. Attached is a review video of this leaf spring for you to check out.
