Does Power Wire of Curt Trailer Wiring Harness for 2017 Ford Focus RS Hatch Have to Run to Battery
Updated 06/20/2022 | Published 06/16/2022 >
Question:
It appears there is a luggage fuse box, does the wire really need to be run up front to the battery? Or can it tap into that fuse box for power? Also, seems like a reviewer said it works for a Focus RS, but I can’t find any other confirmation in the description. Thanks!

The reason you need to run the power wire of the Curt T-Connector trailer wiring harness part # C56273 up to the battery of the vehicle is because that method of powering the converter is what keeps the wiring of your vehicle safe from trailer shorts. This is the circuit that powers the trailer taillights so if there was a short on your trailer wiring you wouldn't have to worry about it potentially damaging your vehicle wiring. So I understand the temptation to try an easier route but we can't recommend it.
This is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Ford Focus Hatchback RS as well.
