Question:
Have a Carson Trailer, Model RC081 with a 3500# Torsion axle with 15 wheels 5 on 5. No markings on axle so dont know brand does torsion make it Dexter?. L68149 and L44649 bearings. National 470361 grease seal. Want to convert to electric brakes. Think I need two 84556UC3-EZ or AKHD-550-35-EZ-K hubs with one 23-26-27 or AKEBRK-35-SA brake set. Does this sound correct? Will add one BRKH10B and few 165649 cotter pins also. Does the Dexter stuff only fit a Dexter axle or do I have a Dexter axle- how can I tell?

When replacing the hubs and drums and knowing that your inner bearing is # L68149 and your outer bearing is # L44649 then The Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3.5K Axles - 10 inch Diameter - 5 on 5 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K is the correct set up for you.
The inner and outer bearing, the inner and outer races and the grease seal is all included per hub and drum. The hub has a bolt pattern of 5 on 5 inches, and the wheel studs are 1/2 inch diameter by 1-1/4 inch long.
When switching to the electric brakes The Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10 inch - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 pounds # AKEBRK-35-SA is the correct set.
The brakes have an axle rating of 3,500 pounds and fit the wheel sizes of 13 inch, 14 inch, and 15 inch. The brake has a 10 inch diameter x 2-1/4 inch wide.
