Determining Bolt Pattern
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at this 15 inch by 5 inch silver steel modular trailer wheel with a 5 on 4 3/4 inch bolt pattern. This steel wheel with modular design is sturdy and rust resistant, and this wheel will resist rust with a e-coat and silver powder-coat finish. And the beveled stud holes are going to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub, eliminating the need for the constant re-tightening of lug nuts. So again, these holes here, the stud holes, are going to be beveled, and the wheel stud size is 1/2 an inch by 20. And as you can see, the valve stem is included.
And this has a capacity of 2,150 pounds. Now as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together, this wheel is 15 inches in diameter. So from bead seat to bead seat, it's gonna be 15 inches in diameter. And then the width of this wheel, again, from bead seat to bead seat is five inches. And I mentioned that this has a bolt pattern on 5 and 4 3/4 quarters inches.
And in case you don't know, the first number and the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. So, of course, we have five bolt holes, and the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, you're simply going to choose any bolt hole, and you'll just measure from the center of one bolt hole to either of the bolt holes directly across from the one that you have chosen. You just wanna measure from the center of one bolt hole to the point just past the bolt hole on the opposite side. So whether you choose this hole or this hole, you're just gonna choose from the center of one and measure just to the outer edge of the bolt hole on the opposite side, and that's going to give you your measurement.
And in our case, it's gonna be 4 3/4. Now the center cap is sold separately and if you decide to pick one up, you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 3.19 inches. And this high-quality wheel does meet DOT specifications. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you.

I’ve got an older trailer that uses 5 on 4-3/4 hubs that are no longer common on trailers these days. I wanted a spare and etrailer had one rim option in stock and at a great price. I bought it, mounted up a ST205/75R15 tire, and now I have a spare for my trailer.

You sent me a box labeled 4.75 bolt pattern. The wheel inside the box was a 4.5 bolt pattern. You guys screwed up and I'm told I have to pay the shipping to send the wheel back. I paid shipping to get the wrong wheel and you expect me to pay the shipping to send your mistake back.

Was sent the wrong lug pattern without knowing until I had new tires mounted and was trying to install. Paid $90 for tire install. Then was just given bs excuses about how its my fault that they sent wrong wheels. Order was for 5x4.75 and received 5x4.5. Then they wanted me to pay to return the dang things for an exchange. Very bad customer service. 0 out of 10. Would not recommend to anyone. Id rather push my sxs than order wheels from them again. Now I'm stuck with 3 wheels that I'm not paying another $50 to ship them back.

I have an older car hauler and haven't towed with the trailer yet, as I am in the process of restoring it. That being said, the wheels look good and most importantly fit correctly as they are the hard to find 5 lug on 4 3/4" bolt pattern. Shipping was prompt and on time.
