This wheel is made to carry serious weight without giving up stability. Each Dexstar Steel Mini Mod trailer wheel is rated for 2,200 lbs and meets Department of Transportation standards. The sturdy steel construction gives you the confidence to haul heavy gear knowing the wheel can handle the strain mile after mile.
If you’re in and out of wet or humid environments, this finish makes a big difference. The silver powder coat is applied over an e-coat primer to seal out moisture and road grime, keeping the wheel looking clean and preventing rust from taking hold over time. It’s a simple way to extend the life of your setup while maintaining a sharp look.
The Dexstar Mini Mod uses a 15" diameter by 5" wide rim with a 5 on 5" bolt pattern, 3.19" pilot diameter, 1/2"-20 wheel bolts, and zero offset. That combination gives you easy alignment and balanced performance without pushing the tire too far in or out. The design keeps backspacing right at 3 inches, so it sits just where it should for dependable handling.
The modular design adds strength where it counts while keeping weight consistent across the wheel. This solid steel build resists flex under load and keeps your trailer tracking straight, even during frequent towing or long hauls. It’s a straightforward, proven design built for everyday reliability.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Dexstar 15-inch by 5-inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the five on 5-inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel's a sturdy steel construction. Now we mentioned it's a modular design and the modular design is the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. This wheel has excellent corrosion resistance because they use a two-step finishing process, which includes first an E-coat primer, and then a silver powder coat finish over the wheel. It is a high-quality wheel.
It does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. You notice the center cap is not included. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole. 'Cause when you install that center cap, it goes through the hole here.
Pilot hole diameter is 3.19-inches. Now this wheel is made by Dexstar. It is made in the USA. I do wanna give you a few dimensions on this. We're gonna measure the diameter and the width.
And when you actually measure the diameter, you'll be measuring inside to inside because what you're measuring is when you put a tire on the wheel, the bead of the tire will seat right here. So you're measuring the diameter of where the bead seat to bead seat is. So basically, if you get your tape measure, go inside to inside, there's your 15-inch diameter, and the same way on the width, inside to inside, or bead seat to bead seat. And there's your 5-inch width. Now the bolt pattern on this is a five on 5-inch bolt pattern.
And if you wanna measure that on a wheel, that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case, five. What you'll have to do is pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this one, if you measured it would be 5-inches. So it's a five on 5-inch bolt pattern. The wheel lug size, this uses 1/2-inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,200 pounds. But that's gonna do it for a look at this Dexstar 15-inch by 5-inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the five on 5-inch bolt pattern.
