When To Use Lockout Key for Dexter Axle Brake Actuators

Question:
Does a lockout have to be in place at all times , even when driving forward? WIll the brakes work even if you have the key in going forward?

In regards to the Replacement Consumer Lockout Key for Dexter Axle Brake Actuators part # DX94FR, this is only to be used when needing to reverse with the trailer as it will stop fluid from progressing through the cylinder applying the brakes on the trailer. It should not be left installed while not in use.
