Why Doesn't the Curt Hitch # C15318 Fit onto My 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup?

Sorry to hear about your fitment issue! From the looks of your order with us, you bought the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V XD - 2" # C15318. This model is confirmed to fit some 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 models. It will not fit other submodels of Ram pickups for that year. Also, the hitch does not fit Sport models with dual exhaust. It also is only compatible with 6-1/2 foot beds with the standard or step bumper.

If you have a 2001 Ram that fits the compatibility criteria, the hitch most likely bowed or bent during shipment. This is an issue that occurs every now and then. If this is the case, never fear! We have some methods that you can use to fix the issue. I recommend using the following methods to bend the hitch back into shape:

- using a table vice
- using a step
- using the floor
- using a wall
- using the vehicle's frame
- using a jack
