Question:
Hi - we are looking to replace an old Atwood water heater model GC6AA9e on our airstream 2000 and do not want to have to change the exterior opening. Is there a model we can replace this with? Is it possible to find a tankless replacement that would be accommodate our opening ? Thanks,

Please verify your access door measurements but you should be able to replace your Atwood GC6AA-9E with the tankless water heater from Furrion using RV Tankless Water Heater,# FR98SR. This has measurements of 12-5/8" wide x 12-5/8" tall x 19-1/4" deep that are very near to what you have now with a door that measures 16-1/8" x 16-1/8".
We always recommend that installation and service be performed by a qualified installer.
