Question:

Hi There, Were currently towing a 1998 Jeep Wrangler and would like to set up our 2018 Subaru Crosstrek manual transmission to flat tow behind our RV, hoping to be able to use some of our existing components. Were using a Ready Brake surge brake with a ball mount and wed like to keep using it, so well need a coupler tow bar that is compatible with the faceplate for the Crosstrek. Looks like well go with the RM-52927-5 faceplate for the Crosstrek. Weve been using a really basic Reese Towpower 74344 tow bar with the Jeep. Im assuming this wouldnt be compatible with the Roadmaster plate, right? Thanks in advance for any guidance!

For a custom fit base plate kit that fits your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek the Roadmaster # RM-52927-5 will work but since it cannot be use with a Reese tow bar you'd need a new tow bar like the Falcon 2 part # RM-520.

For lighting/safety cables, locks, and covers for the tow bar we have the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain kit part # RM-9243-1 which comes with all of that as one part number. The diode kit that comes with this allows you to splice into the taillight wiring so that your RV controls the vehicle taillights and does not require drilling into the taillight housings. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.
