Question:
Hi! 2021 Honda Passport Sport We had the factory tow package installed when we bought the Passport. I dont think it came wired for brake controller. I want to add a brake controller as were buying a popup camper. Do I just need to buy the brake controller and itll come with whats needed? Do I need to add anything else? The camper I assume will have flat 7 pin. Im guessing Ill need flat 7 pin to round type of converter for hooking up trailer? Thanks for your help!

Since your 2021 Honda Passport has a factory tow package you'll just need an adapter cable with your brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 along with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3070-P.
The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 is the most popular model on the market and will activate the brakes of your trailer in proportion to the braking action of your Passport. The wiring adapter will allow you to simply plug the P3 into your vehicle's wiring harness for a quick and simple installation.
A simple adapter cable will not allow you to activate the brakes on your trailer since a 4-way only has your braking and turn signal wires. Instead you'll need to install a 7-way socket and run the additional wiring to pass your braking signal from the Passport to the trailer.
To upgrade your 4-way connector to a 7-way you'll need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7. This kit will come with everything you need to switch up to a 7-way and be able to activate the brakes of your trailer.
