Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2026 Honda Passport Towing 3,500 lb Trailer

Question:

Is this the best WDH option for a 2026 Honda passport with the factory installed hitch? It would be to tow a 3500 GVWR full height camper thats 162inch long with trying to keep to a 10ish tongue weight which is a challenge with the campers layout. Have already thought about removing the propane tank to reduce the tongue weight while towing. Already have the Curt electronic sway control installed but not sure if that thing is working b/c still noticed sway when towing. The weight of the WDH is of a concern since you have to pick that thing up to connect to the receiver.

Hey Sharon, the better option for you would be the Fastway e2 part # FA92-00-0600 which is going to better match your loaded tongue weight compared to the system you mentioned. This has a tongue range of up to 600 lb instead.

This would allow you to leave the propane tanks on as well.

I would check on the Curt sway control system as it shouldn't allow for sway like you mentioned. All of these systems weigh about the same amount though so there wouldn't be a way to get away with a lighter weight system to any significant degree.
