Helpful Expert Reply:
We do indeed have a trailer wiring harness that will fit and work with your 2016 GMC Acadia without the factory tow package. The harness is labeled as being "for factory tow package" but is not exclusive to that; it comes with the fuses and relays needed to activate the harness. The correct part is the following:
- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118270
You will first insert the fuses and relays included with the # 118270 in the locations specified in the linked installation instructions, and then just plug the harness in. There will be a plug under your Acadia on the passenger side to the right of the muffler. To mount it you simply need the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144.
This will mount directly to the hitch that fits your '16 Acadia, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75528.
