Hitch Recommendation for a 2022 Toyota Highlander XSE w/ 20 Inch Spare Tire

Hello Experts, I need to find out if there are any restrictions to install a hitch rack on my 2022 Toyota Highlander XSE. Your website indicates that it will not fit on XSE models with a spare tire larger than 18inch diameter. My XSE has 20inch wheels. I am only planning on using this hitch for a bike rack not towing, I will not need wiring hardness. On one of the questions you indicate that receiver e75ZR will fit an XSE but there are no comments about the spare tire diameter. Thank you

I would be happy to help clarify the confusion and set your 2022 Toyota Highlander XSE up with a hitch for your bike rack. The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e75ZR does fit your Highlander XSE. This hitch is custom fit and bolts directly to your Highlander's frame with included hardware. The spare tire size does not have to do with the hitch fitting your vehicle. The issue with the spare tire on your Highlander is there is no room once the hitch is installed for the larger 20" spare tire. I have linked a picture that shows the undercarriage of a Highlander with the hitch installed and a 18" spare tire in place so you can see how there is no room.

You will need to look into getting a smaller spare tire from Toyota.
