Question:

i have a folding tonneau cover and i am looking for a rack to mount under the tonneau cover and still have it fold back while the rack is on the truck. I want use the cover while i am carring kyacks.

The tricky thing about tonneau covers and ladder rack/truck bed roof rack mounting systems is that the rails from the tonneau covers get in the way of the mounting systems for pretty much every rack system, but I do have a solution for your 2016 Ram 3500 with the Thule TracRac SR as long as your tonneau cover rails sit inside your truck bed rails.

The TracRac SR, part # TH43003XT-501 without RamBox for short bed or part # TH43003XT-000 for long bed, uses base rails that sit on top of your truck bed sides and mount using the stake pockets, plus you are able to move the legs back and forth along these rails to ensure you can operate your folding cover as well as any loads that you need to transport. I don't know of a rack system that mounts inside the truck rails and/or is compatible with a tonneau cover which is why I recommend going this route.

If you don't already have a kayak carrier I recommend using the Thule Hull-A-Port Aero Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # TH849000 because it not only is a great system, but it also mounts via T-Tracks. This is important because the TracRac SR crossbars are larger than normal roof rack crossbars so standard carriers that use a clamping system will have a harder time fitting around the crossbars.
